Job Summary:

The Branch Leader is responsible for directing the overall activities of an ICS Field Branch. In this role a Branch Leader is expected to present to all levels of the enterprise, manage a full profit and loss statement, develop and lead a team, adapt to ever-changing technological developments and manage an operations strategy, all while managing a cradle-to-grave sales strategy, and understanding the sales and market trends within the industry.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate growth focused activities to realize and capture market potential.

  • Foster positive customer and contract carrier relations to retain and grow current business.

  • Ensure customers receive superior on-time service.

  • Hire, train and develop staff to meet branch objectives in regards to customer satisfaction, sales, and operations.

  • Responsible for budget and profit margins to meet and exceed branch and business unit goals for sales and profitability.

  • Prepare annual, monthly, and weekly plans to ensure each employee understands their goals in relation to the strategic objectives of the branch and ICS.

  • Generates leads to develop new business with major accounts to grow branch revenue and maintain margin goals.

  • Network with internal sales and marketing staff to develop and grow business.

  • Properly manage risk and maintain financial integrity in all business matters.

  • Ensure compliance to all local, state and federal (DOT) laws and regulations.

  • See that all compliance issues are planned, updated or resolved daily.

  • Foster a work environment that promotes J.B. Hunt’s values for people, performance, and ethics.

  • Moderate travel required.

  • Position requires full time attendance.

Qualifications:

What does it take to be considered?

  • A degree and 3 years of relevant Flatbed 3PL/Brokerage/Transportation experience, plus multi-axle experience ;

  • OR 5 years of relevant Flatbed 3PL/Brokerage/Transportation experience, plus multi-axle experience .

  • Must understand Budget and P&L management.

  • Think strategic, but be willing to get your hands dirty.

  • You must be able to travel and be on call 24/7.

  • Leadership experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Leverage current assets, existing carrier relationships, or develop new carriers to deliver the solutions you crafted for your customers.

  • Work with our existing sales force to develop addition business opportunities for your office.

  • Continue to hire and train quality personnel and provide them a strategic vision for the future.

  • Full P&L ownership. You set your goals to drive your future.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelors: Business Administration/Management, Bachelors: Business Communications, GED (Required), High School (Required)

Work Experience:

Management-Entry Level, Transportation/Logistics
