Job Summary:

The incumbent is responsible to guide and oversee rail maintenance managers, ensure ongoing and mandatory employee safety training is performed, work closely with shop and conduct shop audits and safety inspections and unsafe act identification. Monitor and audit local rail contractor in regard to proper handling procedures, quality inspections of work performed, data entry of repair orders and reviewing and closing of same. Review repair orders from other rail facilities for accuracy.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide overall safety for employees, training and observations

  • Audit rail facilities as scheduled.

  • Provide quality inspections of work performed.

  • Provide manager training, working with them on how to document information in such a manor that the information cannot be disputed.

  • Provide inventory management, cycle counts of inventory, tire and tools on a daily basis.

  • Perform data entry, review repair orders and close repair orders.

  • Perform scrap tire analysis once a month.

  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus specialized training; five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and two years management experience.
