The Sr Manager IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery is responsible for: The managing of resources responsible for planning and preparation of Business continuity for JB Hunt to make sure it overcomes serious incidents or disasters and resumes its normal operations within a reasonably short period and according to the established SLA’s. Develop templates and processes to complete effort to provide business continuity and disaster recovery for all facilities, infrastructure, hardware, firmware, software and intellectual property.
Typical disasters that business continuity covers are but not limited to natural disasters including fires, floods, accidents caused by key people, server crashes or virus infections, insolvency of key suppliers, negative media campaigns and market upheavals.
Self-directed/under little supervision, the Sr Manager oversees, mentors and leads associates. This person will perform personnel evaluations, interact with the team, manage projects, and define key performance indicators to drive the success of the team. The Sr. Manager IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery will participate in executive project discussions and help align their team with the projects to ensure success. This person will have direct influence and accountability to the designated budget for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
Manages a small team of business analysts/business relationship leaders and technical resources that Identify critical business processes, key employees and other vital assets and resources
Works in collaboration with his team and managers to support and identify threats and the likelihood of occurrence for the business to be disrupted and assess the business impact of threats
Creation of data mining and final report of high-availability at-risk systems in data centers across the JB Hunt campuses.
Develop strategies and plans to mitigate and recover from disasters as well as educate employees through training and exercise of the implemented procedures for recovering within SLA’s established. (Disaster Recovery)
Create the overall disaster recovery strategy, disaster recovery communication plan, disaster recovery run book and data center disaster declaration methodology. (Disaster Recovery)
Periodically review, test and update the plan. Work in collaboration with the Business units and the Red team to establish protocols for recovery and plans for execution of dry runs of disaster scenarios. (Disaster Recovery)
Provides coaching and guidance to associates ensuring timeliness and quality of deliverables.
Leads and executes audit engagements for IT and the Business to conform compliance of business continuity plans and disaster recovery documentation updates.
From beginning to end, to include understanding horizontal and vertical impacts across the entire JB Hunt business and technology organization (i.e. ability to cross matrix).
Collaborate with Red team, Business Relationship leaders, Business Analysts, Engineering Technology, third party vendors and other stakeholders in:
Planning, coordinating and executing regular system and business continuance/disaster recovery processes audits on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. (Disaster Recovery)
Performing yearly companywide controlled failover exercises to make sure plans work accordingly in a pandemic scenario. (Disaster Recovery)
Creating policies and standards for execution according to SLA’s established for business recovery.
Set entity wide Engineering and Technology and Business stakeholders guidance for updated policies and standards processes using methods such as email notification, Intranet posting, and the security awareness training program or other methods to ensure understanding and acceptance of the overall and individual process for business continuance and disaster recovery. Conducts IT and business risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate disaster recovery policies, and adherence to best practices.
Ensures failover exercises are completed objectively, professionally, and in accordance with corporate and industry standards. (Disaster Recovery)
Perform a data center inventory as well as software inventory for criticality determination aligned to the business needs. (Disaster Recovery
Manages engagement-related efforts and assignments of staff with varying degrees of expertise and experience when conducting business risk analysis.
Conducts or assists with special reviews, risk analysis, monitoring activities, and work with third party vendors to ensure plans are solid for disaster recovery scenarios.
Provides guidance on the use of various business systems alternate solutions, applications, and/or tools when business has been disrupted and a need of alternate solutions is required.
Updates business risk assessments and mitigation plans utilizing current data
Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data collected from multiple sources to ensure valid conclusions are drawn and specific actions are executed.
Ensures and develops content of business risk analysis and reports. Reviews work papers and delivers to the Red team and management reports.
Writes and provides feedback for engagement performance evaluations.
Communicate with all levels of staff up to executive leaders.
Design, implement, and improve internal disaster recovery controls while assisting with any corrective actions.
Maintain all E&T Internal Controls.
Maintain governance over IT policies, standards, and procedures.
Oversees management and development of project budgets and initiatives by requesting necessary resources and monitoring budget alignment to ensure on-budget delivery of project success.
Drives the execution, development, and prioritization of multiple cross-functional projects by employing strategic practices in order to achieve project goals.
Communicates and exemplifies organizational culture within employee base.
Collaborates with key stakeholders by evaluating project results in order to ensure that expected outcomes are occurring.
Encourages team workflow improvement by identifying and removing barriers to success.
Manages team development by setting and evaluating goals, providing feedback, and employing development techniques to enable employees to realize their potential.
Ensures team adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards by coaching employees in required practices or applying corrective actions.
Represents and advocates for the company externally through recruiting and attending educational events and industry conferences.
Builds relationships between and collaborates with management roles within the company to support department effectiveness.
Interview and hires potential employees for Engineering and Technology departments.
Supports business relationships with current and prospective vendors.
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration/Management, Information Technology, or related field, or foreign equivalent, or suitable combination of education, experience and training; plus 4 years of Project Management or Management-Mid Level.
Masters degree in Engineering, Business Administration/Management, or Information Technology
