Job Description Summary:

The Safety Technology Team specializes in the quality and efficient processing of video-recorded critical vehicle events (CVE), leading new technology pilots and deployments and testing new equipment. Through collaboration with various members of our corporate safety department and other departments within the company, we deliver communication and education about the safety technologies that our tractors are equipped with.

The Safety Technology Supervisor is responsible for training, educating and managing a group of hourly employees and assisting with managing current safety technologies. Must possess strong managerial, analytical, presentation, communication and computer skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written communication. Use of computer software: JBHT operating system and other standard PC software, including Microsoft Office, Workday, PeopleNet, Safety Direct, Spider, Driver Documentation Database (DDD), among others. Knowledge of safe operation of tractor-trailer equipment and/or Class A CDL is a plus, but not required.

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Train, educate and manage group of hourly employees

  • Responsible for assisting Safety Technology Manager with scheduling and facilitating monthly team meetings

  • Review, grade and communicate video-recorded critical vehicle events

  • Assist with managing video-recorded CVE and DDD input

  • Conduct periodic audits of graded CVE

  • Communication with all driver management hierarchy - safety & operations

  • Communicate events to Safety Claims for preservation purposes

  • Communicate events to Safety Training and Development for training purposes

  • Assist field management in understanding the video and aiding them in proper training assignment

  • Assist in the development of training for video-recorded events and use within the DDD

  • Assist in educating and managing the process for video download, usage and storage

  • Responsible for running reports and developing reports for safety technology needs

  • Manage and communicate camera system maintenance reports

  • Assist in managing user access and training for new users

  • Communication with camera and radar vendors

  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four-year college degree and/or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of management experience.

  • The individual should have strong project management skills and the ability to multitask.

  • Must possess strong managerial, analytical, presentation, communication and computer skills.

  • Position may require some travel
