The Accounting Intern will assist the J.B. Hunt Transport Internal Audit Team in completing the 2019 SOX 404 assessment of internal controls over financial reporting and provide assistance to the company's external audit firm. The position is responsible for preparing audit workpapers which requires knowledge of U.S. GAAP and office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Access).
You may lead, coordinate and manage special projects that will help solve actual industry related problems while gaining real life-experience;
Demonstrate and polish your communication skills across various mediums through practical experience and problem-solving while working with top name customers across the nation;
Utilize the industry's top technology and partner with business experts to identify effective and efficient ways to best serve your customers wide range of needs;
Collaborate with your team and internal business partners to resolve complex challenges and develop useful knowledge becoming fluent in the language of logistics and transportation;
Engage and connect in ongoing training and professional development activities focused on enhancing your skills and abilities to become the next industry expert; Primarily Part-time during Fall 2019 with options for Summer as well
Network with a wide variety of customers, carriers, and drivers to start building the foundation to a successful career in Supply Chain Logistics
The ideal internship candidate will:
Have demonstrated leadership qualities;
Currently enrolled in an approved Accounting university degree program. Junior or Senior undergraduate or first year into a master’s program preferred.
Have a GPA of 2.7 or higher;
Possess strong written and oral communication skills;
Be proficient in business-related computing applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
Have some knowledge of the industry and the products and services we offer;
Be available to work 20-30 hours per week
Have the ability to work in teams and individually;
Communication, Creativity (JBH Rating Scale), Customer Service, Decision Making & Problem Solving, Working with Others
