The Compliance Manager will assess and manage risks related to anticorruption, ethics, and due diligence processes. This position will involve special projects and advising activities with operations for both onboarding new business or changes to existing processes.
The Compliance Manager will also assist in the execution of monitoring reviews (audits) for the Company with Internal Auditors, reporting status of control operation and design as well as process and system improvements.
This position also collaborates with other shared service compliance departments to maintain & enhance corporate training and education programs.
Lead effective training programs, conduct internal monitoring and auditing.
Facilitate the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process, third-party Intermediary Management process.
Advise investigations and respond promptly to detected offenses and undertake corrective actions. Key responsibilities:
Promote the use of the Compliance Hotline and heightened awareness of the Code of Conduct.
Gain an understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.
Supervise and report results of the compliance/ethics efforts and provide mentorship for senior leadership on matters relating to compliance.
Strategic business partner for major importance to the company providing information related to intentional acts of non-compliance, fraud, waste, and abuse.
Develop and implement effective compliance training programs to educate employees on the legal and ethical standards ensuring training reflects the latest developments in law and business ethics.
Identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk.
Build corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
Provide general mentorship on how to avoid or resolve similar situations in the future.
Collaborates closely with colleagues in Legal, IT, IA, HR, Finance, and other essential functions in order to advise on compliance issues through the appropriate channels for investigation and resolution as well as work towards future improvements as the Compliance Program evolves.
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree
5+ years of proven ability in advancing compliance roles
In-depth knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory and compliance requirements for multinational companies, compliance risk management practices, and methodologies, including risk assessment, monitoring/surveillance, and testing activities
Strong project management skills, including running and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects, budgeting for the compliance function, and reporting progress and risks to colleagues and senior management
Experience in conducting investigations and handling the entire investigation process, including the management, and tracking of the investigation lifecycle and the close-out process
Experience in the transportation industry and the legal and industry regulations/guidelines affecting industry businesses
Experience in developing and maintaining effective lines of communication, including the management of a Compliance Hotline
Experience in risk management related to Third Party Intermediaries (e.g., carriers, service providers, agents, etc.) including vetting, onboarding, and post-engagement auditing and monitoring
Experience facilitating and/or leading Enterprise Risk Management processes
Experience with internal compliance auditing, monitoring, analysis of data, drafting findings and observations, and crafting effective remedial measures in collaboration with functional leaders
Education requirements are a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field. Master’s in Business Administration or Accounting or Juris Doctor. Juris Doctor or Compliance certifications/credentials preferred
At least 1 year of experience with U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and equivalent international anti-corruption laws and regulations
Strong analytical, writing, and legal research and interpretation skills
Exceptional attention to detail, meticulous record-keeping practices and ability to organize large volumes of information
