Under routine supervision, the position is responsible for ensuring that driver applicants meet J.B. Hunt's driver hiring standards and DOT regulations. The incumbent will review driver files and evaluate the safety records, driving experience, employment, and criminal history of each driver applicant.
Background Verifications Coordinator Key Responsibilities:
• Communicate with driver applicants, managers/personnel, external employers, references and government agencies as needed to facilitate the background screening, including informing drivers when they qualify/do not qualify.
• Order and review driving employment history and other consumer reports.
• Review and update applications as needed with information verified throughout the screening process.
• Calculate and qualify experience as well as safety to ensure applicants meet Company and DOT hiring standards.
• Communicate with Service Center personnel and/or operations regarding applicants before and during hiring process.
Onboarding Specialist Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with driver-applicants through verbal and written communication to ensure engagement and readiness through the onboarding process.
Take phone applications for prospective drivers using online software to screen and ensure quality driver-applicants are provided as potential hires.
Schedule qualified driver-applicants for onboarding and gather all required DOT and company paperwork for applicants using multiple systems to ensure DOT requirements are met before hire.
Continue to sell driver-applicants and make sure they have all pertinent information by referring to job descriptions and onboarding location information provided to the incumbent.
Inform driver-applicants who do not meet hiring requirements that they are currently ineligible, but keep the driver interested in working for J.B. Hunt at future time.
Compose pertinent electronic documentation for safety and compliance personnel using internal and external systems required for company policies and DOT regulations.
Order driver-applicants’ pre-employment screenings using company software to ensure DOT and company standards are met.
Request, order, and provide driver applicants’ travel arrangements using company software and communicating with Account Managers for potential hotel arrangements and details.
Utilize company systems to document all contact with driver-applicants to improve internal communications and maintain compliance.
Background Verifications Coordinator Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with 0-1 year combination of education, experience and training..
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to multi-task
Proficient time management skills
Experience working in a fast-pace environment
Experience working in a team and tracking toward metrics/goals
Onboarding Specialist Minimum Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
Preferred Qualifications :
Ability to communicate effectively over the phone
Ability to multi-task
Basic time management skills
Proficient active listening skills.
