Job Description Summary:

Position Summary: As a Specialized Business Development Consultant, you aggressively market the J.B. Hunt brand to develop new accounts and secure an established customer base. You will be responsible for the solicitation of business from new and existing customers to expand business volume and meet margin goals. The Specialized Business Development Consultant will evaluate a customer's current transportation requirements: existing service, mode, lanes, budget, etc., and propose a custom transportation solution from JB Hunt's product offerings. If you are looking to take the next step forward in your career, this is the opportunity for you! Responsibilities: Markets, services, and promotes JB Hunt's transportation products and services. Determine transportation products/solutions that best meet the customer’s needs and financial requirements. Establish & maintain a multi million dollar book of regular business. Collect and analyze information regarding the customer’s transportation requirements, lanes, inbound & outbound, pricing, logistics. Conduct on-site visits with existing and prospective customers. Advises the customer regarding the advantages and disadvantages of different transportation solutions (Intermodal, Van, Dedicated Services, Specialized). Foster excellent customer relationships. Solicit freight and grow business from existing customers. Solicit new sales by developing leads and cold calling potential customers. Extensive travel is required.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for company growth by using your sales skills, supply chain knowledge, sales process and sales leadership to understand your customer, develop opportunities, retain business and close new opportunities.

  • Identify, establish and develop new and existing customer relationships through a consultative sales approach that includes identifying supply chain buyer types and influencers.

  • Ability to use Salesforce.com to communicate your customer’s expectations of JB Hunt. Create and maintain relationships with various support groups within the organization.

  • Proactively communicate service expectations and work with account teams to develop plans to meet expectations and manage exceptions.

  • Facilitate the implementation and ongoing use of the Customer Value Delivery™ process.

  • Act with honesty and integrity in everything you do.

  • Liaison between sales team and our Mexico business unit.

  • Experience speaking with manager and director level.

  • People-oriented, process-oriented and highly organized.

  • Highway direct trailer and trans-load experience.

  • Bi-Lingual preferred.

  • 3-5 years of selling Mexico transportation business.
