Job Description Summary:

Under general supervision, the position is responsible for assisting the Director of Corporate Security in investigating all unlawful activity, thefts of property, criminal acts, etc. that could result in a loss of funds, property or prestige to the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with investigations of internal and external incidents involving unlawful activity, thefts of property, criminal acts committed by employees, etc., that could result in loss to the organization.

  • Ensure ethical, legal, regulatory compliance in all aspects of case management.

  • Serve as an official company representative to assist the activities of local law enforcement personnel assigned to investigate the case.

  • Locate and interview plaintiffs, witnesses, or representatives of business or government to gather facts and obtain statements relating to cases and alleged violations.

  • Evaluate the status of Company employees involved in the incident by examining business, public, and other records to establish facts and authenticity of data and to determine corrective action.

  • Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate in the case management system.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and departmental requirements by reviewing each assigned case for suspicious activity.

  • Use data, tools, and investigative techniques to identify trends and enhance security.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of four years in high school, trade extension, or correspondence school equal to two years of college. Five years’ experience in law enforcement or corporate security, three years as an investigator, or four-year degree in criminal justice or police science plus experience preferred, or a combination of training and experience.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES

Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with external agencies and employees. Ability to make decisions in a timely and professional manner, plus have analytical ability, initiative and problem-solving ability.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Conversational Spanish desired.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
