Job Description Summary:

The Manager of Financial Analysis will do most of the preliminary legwork for potential M&A deals and perform market research projects to identify and vet potential organization growth opportunities. The MFA will analyze industry prospects by gathering information about growth, competitors, and market share possibilities. They also review company fundamentals and financial statements. The analyst will then build a mosaic to help upper-level managers make decisions on a deal. Building business cases to support recommendations is a key element of the MFA’s role.

Job Description:

The following is a partial listing of the key responsibilities of the Manager of Financial Analysis:

  • Perform due diligence for possible M&A activity

  • Assisting in execution of deals

  • Assisting in the preparation of marketing pitchbooks and related materials

  • Gathering public information through numerous sources

  • Creating merger and financial model analyses

  • Generating models for valuation metrics

  • Analysis of marketing documents such as Confidential Information Memorandums

  • Building company forecast models

  • Analyzing company performance on an absolute and relative basis

  • Producing and maintaining various databases

  • Perform market research to identify new potential growth channels

  • Build complex financial models to support management decision-making

  • Build proforma financial models to highlight business combination scenarios

  • Develop business case for new innovation growth ideas

  • Analysis and reporting for the Customer Value Delivery™ program

  • Write white papers on select industry topics

  • Analysis and development of costing/pricing of engineered and designed solutions

  • Develop project work plans and process flowcharts

  • Communicate and sell improvement ideas to key decision-makers

  • Reports directly to the Vice President – Strategic Planning

  • Expertise in areas of financial management and cost analysis

  • Expertise in personal computing including database management, spreadsheets, and word processing

  • Communication, motivation and negotiation skills

  • Ability to conduct and complete projects in a timely manner with little supervision Ability to supervise a small group of technical professionals

  • Expertise in market research and business case development Perform due diligence for potential M&A activity

  • Potential for advancement into senior management positions

  • Minimum undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting or MBA

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a problem solving, technically-based environment
